Dr Rhian Pickard

MBChB, MRCS (ed), MRCGP, FRACGP

I’m excited to join the team at Ranges Medical.

I am relatively new to the Macedon Ranges, having moved from Melbourne in early 2021 after falling in love with this beautiful part of Victoria.

I am English and studied medicine in Liverpool, home of the Beatles and Liverpool football club! I graduated there with honours in 2003. I then spent 4 years on a surgical training programme where I gained valuable surgical knowledge and skills, particularly in plastic surgery.

In 2012, a year after completing my general practice training, I decided to move to Melbourne for 12 months. 11 years later, I’m still here and proudly a joint citizen of the UK and Australia.

I consider myself as an approachable and compassionate GP. I pride myself on my commitment to my patients and providing an excellent standard of care. I am experienced in all areas of general practice but has extensive experience in reproductive and sexual health, pregnancy, child health and minor surgery.

I am currently undergoing training to become an Accredited Skin Cancer doctor and have completed training in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer medicine and surgery. I am now offering skin checks, skin biopsies and skin excisions.

Particularly in today’s busy world, I recognise the importance of a good work/life balance. I am equally committed to my work and my life outside of work. When not working, I can be found spending quality time with my husband, 12 year old step son and 4 year old French bulldog. Other passions include cycling, bushwalking, cooking and doing yoga.
